OH MY IRMA For One Night Only

The good news? Haley McGee’s critically acclaimed solo show OH MY IRMA is coming to NYC. The bad news? New Yorkers will only have one shot to see it (at least for now).

The play, directed by Siminovitch Prize Finalist, Chalmers and Dora Award winning director Alisa Palmer, makes its way to Theatre Row, following sold-out runs at both the Edmonton International Fringe Festival and Toronto’s legendary Theatre Passe Muraille. Part of the United Solo Theatre Festival, OH MY IRMA goes up Wednesday, November 9th at 9pm.

From the press release:

A comedy with razor teeth, Mission Bird finds herself in front of an audience, defending an unnamable crime which YES, she committed, but it wasn’t her fault. The story takes macabre turns and Mission Bird’s ardent defense crumbles as she comes closer to revealing to the audience what she’s done – who she’s killed.

Originating as a five-minute piece at an emerging artist cabaret at Toronto’s legendary Theatre Passe Muraille, OH MY IRMA caught the attention of its Artistic Director, Andy McKim. McGee was then selected to develop the play at the prestigious Banff Playwrights’ Colony and presented it to rave reviews and sold-out houses at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival, before its professional debut back at Theatre Passe Muraille. Both productions were received with critical acclaim and sold-out performances.

Tickets are $18. Call Telecharge at 212.239.6200 or visit www.telecharge.com. Theatre Row is located at 410 West 42nd Street (BTWN 9th & 10th).
